Who we are

World Hope International (WHI) is recognised as a leading-edge Christian relief and development organisation, working with vulnerable and exploited communities to alleviate poverty, suffering and injustice. We work in partnership with local communities to develop sustainable solutions to poverty, which transform lives by providing those in need with opportunity, dignity, and hope.

The needs present in today’s world are complex and deeply interconnected. Our program areas complement one another and act as a comprehensive response to poverty, addressing global health issues, investing in clean water and energy solutions, and working to protect and empower the disadvantaged and most vulnerable.

World Hope International Australia is part of a global strategic alliance, with a particular impact focus across the Indo-Pacific region.

About the Role

As World Hope International - Australia moves into a new era following the appointment of a new CEO in January 2022, the opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join the Board of Directors and make a significant contribution to our mission.

The Board meets on a monthly basis, with ten meetings per year.

WHI recognises the importance and benefits of board diversity, including gender equity, and national representation.

About you

As a Non-Executive Director (NED) you will be expected to support the delivery of organisational development objectives and ensure a strong financial and governance foundation.

To enhance the skills matrix of the existing Board members, successful candidates should have current or recent board or executive experience, with a particular emphasis on fundraising and finance.

WHI is inspired and driven by a strong Christian understanding of mission, and Board members are faithful followers of Christ, committed to proactively supporting a national not-for-profit to have impact at the global level.

Please send your expression of interest, along with your board CV, to Mike Woodrow, Board Secretary at

You should include your relevant experience and competencies, a brief statement on why you think you might be the right fit for WHI, and how you align with our values.
