Senior Accountant
The Position
A Senior Accountant responsible for provision of accurate and timely financial information, forecasting and reporting in collaboration with the Business Manager. This includes the provision of consistent, high-quality accounting and financial support and advice to ensure the financial resources of the College and associated entities are effectively managed, reconciled and accounted for accurately.
This broad role involves being as a first level of escalation for general queries from Business Office staff and extends to the effective functioning of the Business Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the integrity of data within the accounting systems, leading to the production of timely and accurate monthly financial reports (including cashflow budgeting).
- Managing and developing accounting processes and where appropriate supporting the development of College Policy guidelines.
- Ensuring that all statutory obligations (PAYG tax, superannuation, GST, FBT, ABS, ACNC, ) are complied with as per legislative requirements.
- Preparing annual financial statements and assisting in the audit
- Supporting the Business Manager in maintaining the financial and operational sustainability of the College and any other associated
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting;
- Possess a current Suitability Blue Card from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian for working with children or eligible to apply for
- CPA or CA qualification preferred
Experience in a School environment will be desirable but is not essential. As the College is a church-based organisation the applicant will need to supply a written Pastoral reference on application.

Type of Appointment
The position of Senior Accountant is a full-time position with 4 weeks of annual leave to be taken at a mutually agreed time and during Christmas/New Year shutdown period. The appointment will be subject to a 6-month probationary period.
