The School currently has close to 1300 students across our two campuses with approximately 1100 students at our Dee Why Campus and 200 students at the Bayview Campus.
St Luke’s Grammar School is one of seventeen schools that are part of the Anglican Schools Corporation (ASC) network of schools. ASC staff work closely with the Principal and School Council to ensure wise oversight and governance of the School as well as provide support with core services including finance, IT, Compliance and Human Resources.
Position: Grounds and Maintenance Assistant (Dee Why & Bayview Campuses)
Load: Permanent Part Time - 3 days per week
Hours: 7:00am - 3:00pm (hours may vary)
Commencement: Term 3, 2022
Reporting to: Facilities Manager

About the Role
St Luke’s Grammar School is seeking to appoint the services of an experienced Grounds and Maintenance Assistant as part of the team that looks after 2 campuses.
The Grounds and Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the regular maintenance, upkeep and ongoing improvement of school facilities and grounds across the two campuses.
Applicants for this position should ideally be a Christian and actively involved in their Church.

Key Roles / Duties / Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
- Undertake works using best practice techniques and procedures while maintaining a safe workplace for students and staff in accordance with the WHS Act 2011
- Be confident and experienced in the use of hand and power tools to carry out general maintenance/repairs
- Have the ability to identify and assess hazards and risks that may impact on the school community including all students, staff, contractors and visitors
- Assist the Facilities Manager to ensure all contractors are compliant with site requirements
- Ensure the school buildings, grounds and surroundings are kept safe, clean and tidy
- Ensure the maintenance of all school tools and maintenance/grounds equipment
- Assist in the set up of school functions
- Assist with the moving of furniture and equipment as required
- Assist in ensuring classrooms and furniture are in good order
- Carry out minor repairs to doors, locks, windows, furniture, fixtures and fittings
- Provide regular feedback to the Facilities Manager to ensure standards are maintained and opportunities for improvement of all facilities are identified
- Assist in the delivery of supplies to key areas of the school
- Be willing to work overtime as required

- Any other duties as requested by the Business Manager or Principal

Qualifications / Licences / Certificates
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
- Trade experience or qualification preferred
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Valid Working with Children Check required
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
Strong physical, mental and emotional health to deal with the required responsibilities of the role
