Overview of Sydney Missionary and Bible College

Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) has a vision to the glory of God to see thousands of loving, skilled graduates bringing the light of Christ to a dark and needy world.  Its mission is to create learning communities through which God prepares his people – theologically, spiritually, and practically – to serve Jesus in diverse contexts and cultures.

Located in Sydney's cosmopolitan Inner West, with two campuses (and with a centre on Sydney's Northern Beaches), SMBC is approved by the Australian College of Theology to offer a variety of courses at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate level. SMBC provides a flexible approach to learning, offering full-time and part-time, day and evening, intensive and semester-length options, to meet the needs of Christians from a variety of backgrounds and with a range of ministry goals.

Property and Facilities Manager

This role is a key position in the College community in managing and maintaining the property and facility assets of the College.  SMBC is a residential and day college with over 400 students (full time, part-time, and off-campus) preparing for service.  Many of our students are full-time residential students living on campus, including families.  Additionally, the effective management of catering and accommodation makes an important contribution to the well-being and flourishing of all our community including staff, students, and visitors to SMBC.

To meet these objectives, we are seeking a highly motivated person with good communications skills who can effectively relate to and manage a range of stakeholders. The successful applicant needs to be capable of overseeing multiple processes delivering quality outcomes on time, and within budget.  We are seeking a person with experience in a process and problem-solving background with a practical bent.  Experience in the management of a similar property portfolio context will be well regarded.

Ideally, we are seeking to fill this position for a start date in early December. This is to allow for a considerable handover with our current Property and Facilities Manager who moves from Sydney to regional NSW in mid-January 2023.
