Community Development Coordinator

We are searching for the right person to take on the newly created role of Community Development Coordinator to manage the day to day operations of The Wellbeing Hub, located at Leichhardt. The Wellbeing Hub is a ministry of Beacon Community – A Baptist Church. Beacon Community is a religious institution and not-for-profit charity that exists to bring the hands, heart and power of Jesus to our local and global communities.

You will be great at forming teams of volunteers that will make a difference in the lives of those living in our community. You will also develop and facilitate projects, resources, and events that support the community, engaging with people with diverse needs. Although you are also responsible for the administration and procedures of The Wellbeing Hub, your role is primarily about people.

Ideally, you will have demonstrated experience in a similar role. Essentially, you will have experience in leading and developing teams of volunteers, with experience in a community service or non-profit environment. You will also need to be willing to work within the Christian ethos and framework of Beacon Community, including the ability to demonstrate and articulate the church Mission, Vision and Values in practices and decision making.

The Community Development Coordinator will be a two year contract, with a goal to extend as funding becomes available. The position is for a 5 day fortnight, with days negotiable.
