This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chief Executive Officer to bring their giftings, skills and experience to join in the work of Mission Aviation Fellowship Australia as they seek to “See isolated people changed by the love of Christ.”
MAF is an organisation using light aircraft to deliver help, hope and healing to isolated people in Jesus’ name in over 30 developing countries. For more than 75 years, MAF has been transporting patients, relief workers, produce and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.
The role of MAF Australia Chief Executive Officer will report directly to the Australian Board and be responsible for strengthening culture and releasing capacity as you lead us into the next phase of ambitious growth.
Strategic priorities
- Lead the development and execution of a God led vision and plan to enable us to fulfil our 5-year ambitions.
- Casting vision for who MAF Australia are becoming and strengthening our operational efficiencies.
- Create and refine MAF Australia’s monitoring and evaluation systems so that we can measure what we do and gain greater clarity on what works and what does not
- Build upon a culture of initiative, innovation and empowerment in which every level of the organisation feels confident to take risks and learn.
- Finding innovative ways to grow our support across the Australian church and beyond, including reaching younger audiences through digital means.
- Improve the ways of working with MAF International teams to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
- Growing our network of praying individuals and Churches.
- Investing resources to increase the number of new recruits to serve overseas as well as supporting the recruitment and development of national staff through financial support and training.

- Envisioning together with the board the development of an ambitious 5-year strategic plan, galvanising the team and ensuring MAF Australia is future fit and ready for the next chapter of growth through strong value delivery and risk management.
- Building upon a culture of empowerment in which every level of the organisation feels confident to take risks and learn and confident that their work is aligned to the vision and strategy and their gifts and purpose.
