Expressions of Interest Sought

Common Grace - Board of Directors (voluntary)

Working with Common Grace

Common Grace is a diverse, grassroots movement of people pursuing Jesus and justice for the flourishing of all people and all creation.

By listening to stories of injustice, equipping individuals and communities, mobilising Christians to undertake meaningful action, and raising a gracious and generous Christian voice in the public conversation, we are seeing people answer Jesus’ call to love our neighbours across these lands now called Australia.

We collectively envision and work towards a world where we are led by our Aboriginal Christian Leaders to see friendship and reconciliation in our lifetime. Where those who come to our shores for safety and asylum are welcomed with compassion. Where there is an end to the epidemic of violence against women, and churches and faith communities are safe places for victims of domestic and family violence. Where, even in the midst of the climate crisis, God's beautiful Creation is restored and protected. For more information please see here.

Board of Directors

Common Grace is now calling for expressions of interest to fill casual vacancies on our Board of Directors. We are looking for people who fit into either of the following categories to contribute at a governance level

  • People without directorship experience but with a passion and lived experience in one of our four justice areas (see here) who will bring their valuable perspective to our governance practices.
  • People with experience in governance who have a passion to see Common Grace grow and succeed.

We are committed to being led by our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander brothers and sisters and warmly welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Positions Available

The Board comprises a mix of directors who are not engaged in the day-to-day management of Common Grace but are involved in the governance and oversight of the organisation with specific focus given to strategic direction and policy development.

A position description outlining the key functions of a Common Grace Director is attached.

Following a recent director retirement, we have the specific vacancy in the office of Treasurer and are specifically looking to appoint a director with either a qualification in finance, accounting, or significant governance experience in this area.

Common Grace seeks Board Directors who are committed to our movement's vision for the goodness that God intends.
