Chief Executive Officer – Christian Early Learning


The newly created role of CEO - Christian Early Learning is to:

  • Offer passionate, prayerful, and wise organisational and sector leadership
  • Imagine, inspire and implement effective strategy
  • Establish, grow and effectively manage the organisation within agreed budget
  • Represent Christian Early Learning publicly and in the media.
  • Building strategic partnerships and relationships to drive growth
  • Establish credibility throughout the customer and partner network
  • Management of website (memberships, payments, content, courses)
  • Plan, execute and deliver an exceptional annual conference experience for Christian Early Learning leaders
  • Plan, implement and measure end to end social media and promotions strategies

The role will predominantly be home based (work from home), with some travel required. Ideally candidates will be based in NSW between Wollongong and Newcastle.

The role is currently the sole position within the company, however this is expected to change in 2023 with the recruitment of a paid Operations Manager, as well as exploring opportunities for volunteers to become involved with and contribute to the organisation.


Key Attributes Required:

  • A commitment to Christian Early Learning’s Christian values and ethos.
  • Passionate about early childhood education and care and the Kingdom role of Christian organisations in the sector
  • Proven organisational leadership, including experience leading teams, with the ability to apply strategic thinking to set direction, plan, implement and evaluate strategy.
  • Clear ability to become the public voice of Christian Early Learning to further the organisation’s influence and provide a missing Christian voice in the early childhood sector.
  • Exceptional fundraising experience or skills, including the ability to network, build rapport and develop strategic partnerships.
  • Solid interpersonal skills in being able to influence stakeholders, attract membership and drive a positive internal people culture.
  • Good experience delivering on strategic outcomes with strong project management and event planning skills.
  • Experience in digital, website and social media management is desirable.


About Christian Early Learning

Founded in 2022 by Early Learning sector leaders, Christian Early Learning Australia is a peak body aimed at connecting, supporting and equipping the leaders, teachers and educators of the 450+ Christian Early Learning centres in Australia, as well as advocacy to ensure the continuation and vibrancy of the vital ministry of Christian Early Learning.

To ensure that the distinct missional opportunity offered by Christian Early Childhood education and care can continue to be pursued, we must support, equip, empower and connect leaders in communities of practice where guiding principles, actionable business plans and vision planning can be shared and built.

The opportunities and challenges for the Christian Early Learning Sector include 2.5 years of COVID challenges, ever-increasing regulatory requirements and $15.9bn state and federal funding allocations to the Early Childhood Education and Care sector including universal pre-kindy. This is therefore a pivotal moment in time for Kingdom impact in the education and care sector.

An online platform will underpin success and nationwide impact

  • Website with publicly available information and members only content
  • Shorter form, and video workshop driven to increase engagement

A key aspect for the CEO role in 2023 is to plan and execute an in-person conference of Christian Early Learning leaders to be held in September 2023 to build awareness of the organisation, and also to support and refresh the leaders of this vital sector.

Salary range $105-$115k including superannuation.
