Bookkeeper

Part time or Full-Time | Springhill, QLD

Initial contract for 6 months with the option to extend

Remuneration: $65,000 - $67,000 per annum (excluding Super Guarantee)

 

The Opportunity:

This is an opportunity for a skilled bookkeeper to utilise their bookkeeping skills by serving in a supportive team.


The role:

This position is responsible to provide assistance and support to the finance function of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland.

 

Main tasks:

  • Coordination and preparation of BAS returns
  • Administration of capital and endowment fund accounts
  • Processing of expense payment fringe benefits (EPFB) for staff
  • Assisting in preparation of year end accounts for audit
  • Assisting Cashflow reporting
  • Accounts payable duties
  • Daily bank reconciliations and transactional processing;
  • Assist with the management of investments;
  • Accounts receivable processing and monitoring
  • Assistant Payroll Officer duties, including superannuation lodgement
  • Other duties, as requested 

 

Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Bookkeeping experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience in using XERO Accounting (preferable)
  • Experience in payroll processing (not essential)
  • Demonstrated expertise in continuous quality improvement practices and applications
  • Ability to work autonomously and adhere to deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Customer service ethos
  • Excellent communication and relationship management
  • Understanding of and ability to work within the philosophy and framework of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland
