Bookkeeper
Part time or Full-Time | Springhill, QLD
Initial contract for 6 months with the option to extend
Remuneration: $65,000 - $67,000 per annum (excluding Super Guarantee)
The Opportunity:
This is an opportunity for a skilled bookkeeper to utilise their bookkeeping skills by serving in a supportive team.
The role:
This position is responsible to provide assistance and support to the finance function of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland.
Main tasks:
- Coordination and preparation of BAS returns
- Administration of capital and endowment fund accounts
- Processing of expense payment fringe benefits (EPFB) for staff
- Assisting in preparation of year end accounts for audit
- Assisting Cashflow reporting
- Accounts payable duties
- Daily bank reconciliations and transactional processing;
- Assist with the management of investments;
- Accounts receivable processing and monitoring
- Assistant Payroll Officer duties, including superannuation lodgement
- Other duties, as requested
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bookkeeping experience
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience in using XERO Accounting (preferable)
- Experience in payroll processing (not essential)
- Demonstrated expertise in continuous quality improvement practices and applications
- Ability to work autonomously and adhere to deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong attention to detail
- Customer service ethos
- Excellent communication and relationship management
- Understanding of and ability to work within the philosophy and framework of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland
