Operations Manager
OneHope Baptist Church (OneHope) is looking for a skilled Operations Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team to lead, direct and oversee our administrative, financial, resourcing, property and legal functions.
You will design business strategies and manage day-to-day operations to drive efficiency.
Superb interpersonal and leadership skills are vital for this role as teamwork is important for success. Suitable candidates should also be excellent written and verbal communicators and possess the ability to effectively lead teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage the staffing of administration and financial services staff.
- Manage resource requirements for pastors, staff and ministry team leaders including office equipment and IT support.
- Develop, maintain and implement systems to encourage the efficient stewardship of church resources.
- Ensure a rigorous system of risk identification, assessment and management is maintained.
- Ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are in place covering all areas of church operations.
- Ensure financial systems, processes and reporting meet statutory and general audit requirements.
- Ensure that surplus funds are invested appropriately.
- Develop and maintain appropriate human resources policies and procedures for hiring, induction, development planning, performance review and compensation review.
- Support pastors, staff and ministry leaders with recruitment and selection processes.
- Manage the use of the church buildings and grounds that includes hire of the church buildings for events, activities and arrangements for weddings and funerals.
- Manage building and property maintenance, development, and caretaking issues.
- Ensure that the church meets all occupational health and safety legal requirements.
- Oversee the Safe Church program to comply with all legal and denominational requirements.
Requirements
- Significant experience in senior management and leadership in a not-for-profit or commercial environment. with a focus on finance and administration.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management or related discipline with relevant business experience.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills.
Compensation
An appropriate salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate that is commensurate with their level of skill, experience and qualifications, and the allocated church budget.
