We're seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Chef or Cook to join our vibrant team, delivering delicious, wholesome meals that enhance the guest experience and reflect our commitment to quality and service.
Your Role
As part of the QCCC Tamborine kitchen team, you’ll play a key role in preparing and delivering high-quality meals to diverse guest groups. Whether serving hungry students after a day outdoors or preparing meals for a leadership retreat, your work will support the spiritual and community-building mission of QCCC.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals for groups ranging from 20 to 200+ guests
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency across all meals
- Adhere to food safety standards and maintain a clean, organised kitchen
- Cater to a variety of dietary needs, including allergies and special requests
- Assist with menu planning, stock control, and ordering
- Supervise and support junior kitchen staff and volunteers
- Contribute to the warm and welcoming hospitality of QCCC
You’ll Bring
Essential:
- Experience as a chef or cook in a high-volume or commercial kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene (Food Safety Certificate preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work a roster including some weekends and school holiday periods
- A positive, guest-focused attitude
Desirable:
- Trade qualifications in commercial cookery
- Experience working in a Christian or community-based hospitality setting
- An appreciation of the ministry context of Christian camping
- A current driver’s licence
- Willingness to obtain a Blue Card (Working with Children)
