We are currently seeking expressions of interest/applications for the following volunteer positions to assist the PeaceWise Board in the governance of PeaceWise:

  • Board Director(s): To support the development of the current Board's skills matrix, we are seeking 2-3 people to join the Board. We are seeking people with governance and leadership backgrounds in any of the following areas:
    • risk and finance
    • donor relations and fundraising
    • international service delivery
    • marketing
  • Risk and Finance Committee Member(s): We are also looking for multiple people to serve on our Risk and Finance Committee. Applicants will need to have current accounting, finance and or business administration experience.

Both the Board and Risk and Finance Committee positions require people who have a living and active faith in Jesus Christ, a strong commitment to the vision, mission and values of PeaceWise (these can be found on our website) and are committed to living as peacemakers themselves.

More about the Board Director positions

The PeaceWise Board has a well-developed gospel centred governance framework that guides the culture and relationships of the Board and helps the Board live out what we teach.

The Board volunteer positions will require a time commitment of, on average, 1 to 2 days per month, which includes attendance at 6-7 board meetings throughout the year (9am-1pm AEST on nominated Fridays), attendance at the annual 5-day board retreat and completion of ongoing associated work for the position. If not already completed, there will also be an expectation to undertake PeaceWise personal peacemaking training (2 days of training).

More about the Risk and Finance Committee positions

The Risk and Finance Committee is a new sub-committee of the PeaceWise Board (reflecting the growing nature of PeaceWise) and is made up of board members, staff and other key members of the PeaceWise community who have giftings and specialised skills in the area of Risk and Finance.

The Risk and Finance Committee volunteer positions will require a time commitment of, on average, ½ - 1 day per month, which includes attendance at 3-4 Risk and Finance Committee meetings throughout the year (exact times are still to be determined). If not already completed, there will also be an expectation to undertake PeaceWise personal peacemaking training (2 days of training).

About PeaceWise

PeaceWise is a Christian, cross-denominational, not-for-profit ministry and Australia's leading voice in biblical peacemaking. We work nationally across churches, Christian schools, ministries, and workplaces, helping people bring peace to conflict, restoration to damaged relationships, and the hope of Jesus into difficult situations.

Our purpose is simple yet powerful: to promote peace and reconciliation in relationships through biblical principles, show the power of Christ and as we do, help grow distinctive cultures of peace. As our logo says, we're all about building peacemakers for life!

PeaceWise has five key ministry arms:

  • PeaceWiseYou – equipping adults to live as everyday peacemakers through training and resources
  • PeaceWiseKids / PeaceWiseYouth – helping children and young people learn to handle conflict and build peace in their world
  • PeaceWiseUs – supporting organisations to build healthy, Christ-centred cultures of peace
  • PeaceWiseHelp – providing Christian conciliation services, including conflict coaching and mediation
  • PeaceWiseVoice – offering biblical insight and commentary into current issues that impact relationships and community life.

PeaceWise is in an exciting season of growth. As we celebrate the progress, we have made under our current strategic plan which concludes in 2025, we are preparing to launch our 2026–2030 strategic plan, focused on helping PeaceWise be increasingly accessible and present in the places where life and conflict meet, both in Australia and internationally.
