As a values-driven institution, we are passionate about academic excellence, innovation, and a student experience grounded in faith and purpose.

We are seeking a strategic and people-focused leader for the role of Head of Onboarding and Progressions. This position is responsible for overseeing the entire student journey—from application through to graduation—by ensuring excellent coordination, process improvement, and service delivery across the onboarding and progressions functions.

As part of this leadership role, you will be responsible for building a vibrant and capable team, including hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of staff who manage different areas of the student lifecycle. Your work will directly impact the student experience, from initial engagement to course completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and develop a high-performing team through effective recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Champion efficient administrative processes that enhance student satisfaction, retention, and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Future Students team to improve the conversion of offers to enrolments.
  • Lead continuous review and improvement of student-facing services and systems.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of policies impacting the student experience.
  • Support the Director of Student Experience in broader strategic initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • At least three years of experience in the higher education sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including staff hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Proven ability to manage high volumes of data and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a student- and stakeholder-focused mindset.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of the Higher Education and VET environment.
  • Ability to lead process improvement and change initiatives.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Strategic and operational thinking, balancing student needs with institutional goals.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-focused leadership approach.

Personal Attributes

  • Professional, confident, and approachable.
  • Resilient under pressure and responsive to change.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to service excellence.
  • Alignment with the Christian mission and values of Alphacrucis University College.
