Are you gifted in working with young women and able to provide pastoral care to students and staff of a public girls' high school?

The Epping Baptist Church Schools Worker Committee is seeking a Christian youth worker/Chaplain to join their team to support young women aged 11-18 years. This is a full-time role in a public girls' high school in north-western Sydney. If you are seeking a part-time role, you are still welcome to apply.

The following skills and experience are desirable:

  • An ability to support, motivate and equip students in their faith journey
  • An ability to lead and organize SRE (Special Religious Education) across the school
  • Experience in leading a Christian lunchtime program
  • A willingness to be part of a school wellbeing team
  • An eagerness to serve the broader school community
  • Being available to direct students in need to appropriate mental health services
  • Strong relational and communication skills
  • A history of working with a broad mix of youth in a multicultural context
  • An understanding of child protection and working within the NSW public school system

In keeping with appropriate guidelines, a willingness to openly share and model your Christian faith is an essential aspect of this role. Being able to share a personal faith testimony demonstrating how the Christian faith has impacted your life will be key to this.

It is also desirable that applicants have a minimum qualification in Youth Work or a willingness to undertake on-the-job training to obtain a qualification. There is potential for this role to expand over time if further needs are identified.

A current Working With Children Check Number should be included on your application.

Please email David Cooper at dcooperdpc@gmail.com with any questions or to receive a full position description.

Applications close when an appropriate candidate is found.
