The following skills and experience are desirable:
- An ability to support, motivate and equip students in their faith journey
- An ability to lead and organize SRE (Special Religious Education) across the school
- Experience in leading a Christian lunchtime program
- A willingness to be part of a school wellbeing team
- An eagerness to serve the broader school community
- Being available to direct students in need to appropriate mental health services
- Strong relational and communication skills
- A history of working with a broad mix of youth in a multicultural context
- An understanding of child protection and working within the NSW public school system
In keeping with appropriate guidelines, a willingness to openly share and model your Christian faith is an essential aspect of this role. Being able to share a personal faith testimony demonstrating how the Christian faith has impacted your life will be key to this.
It is also desirable that applicants have a minimum qualification in Youth Work or a willingness to undertake on-the-job training to obtain a qualification. There is potential for this role to expand over time if further needs are identified.
A current Working With Children Check Number should be included on your application.
