Pastoral Workers: ESA Country Ministries

Location: Any country community (in Victoria or beyond)
Part Time with potential to increase hours in time / Remote

 

Do you have a heart for country communities and for seeing lives transformed by the Gospel? Are you passionate about sharing the Gospel and growing disciples in their faith and ministry? Would you love to provide leadership on camps that have been impacting lives for generations?

ESA Country Ministries (ESA) is seeking to appoint passionate and mature Christians with a heart to work in partnership with country communities and churches to share the Gospel and their lives.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide oversight and leadership on ESA’s camps, empowering our volunteer leaders and making our camps safe for everyone.
  • Work in partnership with local churches and in your local community using the gifts God has given you.
  • Work towards the achievement of ESA’s vision and strategic priorities.
  • Raise your own prayerful and financial support, with ESA’s help and training.
  • Work together with the ESA team to implement and maintain best practice for our camps and ministries and to develop and implement discipleship and leadership training pathways for campers and leaders.

What you bring?

  • A strong alignment with ESA’s Statement of Faith, Mission, Vision and Values
  • Active involvement in a Christian faith community
  • Demonstrated experience in Christian ministry, e.g. youth ministry, leadership on Christian camps, chaplaincy
  • A qualification in Theology and Christian Ministry (Cert IV minimum) or a willingness to work towards this
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capacity to resolve conflict well and live into ESA’s values of Connection, Authenticity, Humility and Faith
  • Motivation to work autonomously and within a team that is geographically diverse
  • A willingness to learn and the flexibility to work in a highly dynamic environment
  • Capacity to connect and engage with wide range of stakeholders of different ages and backgrounds
  • Current and valid Victorian Working with Children Check and Police Check.
  • Current Driver’s license
  • First Aid Level 2

Desirable

  • Outdoor Adventure experience
  • Canoe Qualification
  • Bronze Medallion
  • Ability to tow trailers

Working Hours and Conditions

A high level of flexibility and a willingness to travel within Victoria to attend camps, meet with staff and volunteers, and to support and visit churches and communities.
