About Us:

Christian Youth Camps Limited (CYC) exists to create opportunities for people to personally encounter the living God through camping, conferencing, facilities and programs. We sum this up in three words: Breathe, Experience, Discover. CYC operates 5 sites across Victoria and 1 in Tasmania, being; CYC The Island, CYC Phillip Island Adventure Resort, CYC Forest Edge, CYC Adanac, CYC City, and CYC Blue Lagoon. Across our sites we also run outreach holiday camps and offer leadership development programs. These campsites are supported by our CEO and Head Office team, based on Phillip Island. About the Role:

In this newly created role, the Management Accountant is responsible for working closely with the Head of Finance assisting in the provision of timely, accurate and insightful financial analysis and reporting, developing and maintaining internal management reports, and coordinating budgeting and forecasting cycles.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • I assist in the preparation and presentation monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the CEO and Board.
  • I assist the Head of Finance in working closely with site managers (budget owners) in preparation and monitoring of the annual operational, capital expenditure & revenue budgets to support long term strategic and business goals.
  • I assist in variance analysis: analysing deviations between actual performance and budgets, explaining the “why” behind financial trends
  • I assist in business partnering collaborating with managers to help them understand financial data and identifying areas for growth or cost optimisation
  • I assist in the implementation of new financial and budgeting systems
  • I support organisational change initiatives by assisting with staff training and the adoption of new financial processes and systems working closely with the Finance team to encourage teamwork
  • I support the preparation for audit and coordinate timely responses to audit queries and findings
  • I help identify and implement opportunities to improve automation, efficiency, and data integrity within financial processes
  • I maintain the asset register and any other tasks as discussed and agreed with the Head of Finance.

 

Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • Identify with the values and mission of CYC
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
  • Membership of CAANZ, CPA Australia or CIMA or progressing towards this
  • 3+ years post-graduation years of experience in finance and accounting
  • Work well individually and in a team environment
  • Model a positive, mature and productive attitude
  • Be able to use your initiative to get the job done
  • Drivers Licence
  • Victorian Working with Children Check/ Police Check (willing to obtain)

Desirable

  • Experience in the group accommodation and/or camping industry
  • Experience in the NFP sector
