Content and Media Relations Specialist

The Leprosy Mission Australia is recruiting a strategic and values aligned Content and Media Relations Specialist. This pivotal role sits within a collaborative Fundraising & Communications team and leads how TLMA tells its story across Australia and the world. We have invested heavily in building a Content Hub over the past 12–18 months. Now we need a Specialist to guide the direction of storytelling across fundraising, social enterprise and other areas of business.

About The Leprosy Mission Australia

For over 150 years The Leprosy Mission Australia has partnered with Australians to ensure that people affected by leprosy across the world get the cure, care, and restoration they need to live life in all its fullness. As part of a global network comprised of 30 Members, we are working together to reach our goal of zero leprosy transmission by 2035. The Leprosy Mission extends the hand of ‘mateship’ to those affected by leprosy, disability and other marginalised people. Our supported programs are on the ground in India, Nepal, Nigeria, Indonesia, and Timor-Leste

About the Role

As the Content and Media Relations Specialist, you will lead the development of clear, purposeful content that strengthens The Leprosy Mission Australia’s voice and mission. You will drive the organisation’s content and communications strategy, working closely with a creative agency and guiding the Digital Content Coordinator to ensure stories and messaging are aligned, planned, and impactful.

You will take ownership of media relations - shaping media plans, managing outreach and pitching, and cultivating relationships with key outlets to ensure TLMA’s stories reach the audiences who can amplify change.

Working across fundraising, engagement, digital, campaigns, and social enterprise teams, you will oversee content flow and quality, curating material from photographers, videographers, contractors and international program storytellers. You will monitor performance insights to ensure content is used effectively across digital, print, fundraising, and PR channels.

You will also play a central role in strengthening TLMA’s brand and message consistency, crafting compelling, human-centred stories from programs around the world and contributing to major organisational projects, including the Annual Report and impact updates.
