About the Role Join our team at CRU® Galston Gorge as a Kitchen Team Leader! You’ll lead and supervise kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality meals for campers and guests. This hands-on role includes food preparation, managing dietary needs, stock control, and maintaining safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff during busy service periods
- Set the standard for teamwork, organisation, and food quality
- Coordinate food preparation for large groups, including dietary requirements
- Manage stock control, kitchen cleanliness, and food safety compliance
- Support and train team members to perform confidently and efficiently
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Demonstrates strong team leadership skills and leads by example
- Is highly organised and can manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Has a genuine passion for cooking and commercial kitchen work
- Is confident handling high volume food preparation and service
- Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team
- Is flexible and available to work weekends
- Has a trainable, positive, and solution focused mindset
Trade qualifications and previous experience in camping, conferencing, or largescale catering environments are highly regarded but not essential.
About Us
CRU is a Christian youth organisation passionate about helping students know and follow Jesus through camps and school’s ministry. Our Galston Gorge site hosts school and holiday camps in a beautiful bushland setting.
