Anglican Aid is the overseas aid, development and ministry support agency of Sydney Anglicans in partnership with the global church.
We are seeking a Bookkeeper to support the Finance Manager in the accurate and timely delivery of regular financial reports.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in functions that enable the production of the monthly financial reports for our three entities. Using Xero, prepare and issue accounts receivable including major donor invoices, prepare and execute accounts payable, assist with initial stages of income and expenditure reconciliations, support BAS/IAS submission to the ATO, and support accurate record keeping, to enable an efficient annual audit.
We are looking for a team member who can:
- Prepare and submit accounts receivable - including major donor invoices
- Process accounts payable - for timely payments, ensuring bank account balances are monitored
- Conduct income reconciliation – alignment of bank accounts, finance package (Xero) and CRM balances (Salesforce)
- Debit cards – prepare monthly reconciliation
- Project payments – prepare monthly reconciliation ensuring alignment of records in CRM and bank direct debits
- Liaise with external Chartered Accountant to support periodic BAS and IAS preparation and submission
- Maintain records, including transaction records in Xero
- Ensure records are available and complete when required, ready for annual audit.
The successful candidate will have Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping, or relevant work experience in a finance related role. They will have experience in Xero (required), Salesforce (an advantage) and MS Excel (high levels of competence).
The successful candidate will have high attention to detail, a servant heart with a willingness to manage workloads flexibly, and excellent teamwork skills. Previous experience in a Christian not-for-profit will be highly regarded.
