About the Opportunity
Alphacrucis University College is seeking expressions of interest from experienced higher education and VET professionals for the position of Manager, Academic Quality and Operations.
This is a key role supporting the quality, governance and effective operational delivery of academic programs across Alphacrucis. The position is responsible for analysing and managing academic and administrative information, coordinating quality and governance activities, supporting course reviews and accreditation processes, and providing practical advice to academic and professional staff.
Working closely with academic leaders, professional services teams and external stakeholders, the Manager will help ensure that academic operations and documentation align with regulatory requirements, institutional policies and quality standards.
The role offers an opportunity for a highly organised and analytical professional to contribute to continuous improvement and the ongoing development of Alphacrucis' academic quality and governance framework.
Key Responsibilities
The Manager, Academic Quality and Operations will:
- Maintain and manage the institution's policy register, course register and VET scope, ensuring records accurately reflect review and accreditation activities.
- Maintain and monitor academic documentation, including subject outlines, course handbooks and student-facing information.
- Coordinate updates to website content relating to courses, subjects and policies to ensure information remains accurate and current.
- Administer student and lecturer surveys and collect, analyse and evaluate information to support institutional decision-making and reporting.
- Coordinate course reviews and course development projects, including timelines, resources, stakeholders, documentation and performance reporting.
- Analyse organisational processes, data and documentation to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend corrective or preventative actions.
- Support academic governance activities, including committee and subcommittee participation and preparation of governance reports, committee papers and supporting documentation.
- Provide advice to academic and professional staff on policy, procedures and organisational processes.
- Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical operational guidance for internal stakeholders.
- Support the review and implementation of educational and administrative policies, procedures and systems.
- Monitor regulatory and sector developments, including TEQSA and ASQA requirements, and assess their operational impact.
- Coordinate third-party provider engagement, including relationship meetings, onboarding, compliance support and course delivery.
- Support registration and accreditation processes, including the preparation and coordination of applications and renewals with regulators and professional bodies.
- Coordinate process and system improvements across academic and administrative functions and monitor their effectiveness.
- Work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders to support high-quality course and project delivery.
- Undertake other duties consistent with the scope and objectives of the position.

Qualifications and Experience
You will have:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Previous experience in higher education and/or VET, particularly in a compliance, quality, policy or governance role.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating academic quality, governance, compliance or operational activities.
- Experience supporting course reviews, course development, accreditation, registration or regulatory processes.
- Experience managing academic documentation, policy registers, course information and institutional records.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and recommend practical improvements.
- Experience providing policy, procedural or operational advice to academic and professional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, competing priorities and multiple stakeholders.
Knowledge
You will have knowledge of:
- The Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF).
- The VET Quality Framework.
- The ESOS Act and National Code.
- Higher education and VET quality and regulatory requirements.
- Academic governance and institutional policy frameworks.
- Records and information management, including document control, version control, privacy and retention obligations.
- Quality assurance and continuous improvement principles.
