Wanted: Children's and Families Evangelist and Minister
St Matthew's Anglican Church is in Wanniassa ACT. We are a large (500+) evangelical Bible-based, Christ-centred church with a rich history of preaching God's word and sending people out in gospel ministry. Gripped by the love of Christ, St Matt's is passionate about seeing strangers become believers, believers grow to be lovers, and lovers serve as warriors for Him. A vital part of this is raising children to know, follow, and share Jesus.
Our Children's and Families Ministry partners with parents to raise children in the knowledge and love of Jesus. Each week we connect with over 100 children through Playgroup, FISH (Friday afternoon kids club) and K@Ch (Sunday school program during 10am church).
We are seeking a gospel-hearted servant to join our team and oversee our Children's and Families ministries.
Essential criteria
- A personal love for Jesus and his church
- A love for children and a desire to see them come to trust Christ
- Of proven godly character (1 Timothy 3)
- Of evangelical and reformed convictions
- Theological education
- Able to teach God's Word
- Experience of recruiting, leading, training and developing teams of leaders
- Competence to work independently, managing yourself and your time well
- A growing self awareness about ministering as part of a staff team
- Able to learn and live the ministry philosophy and culture of St Matt's
- Passionate to develop and execute a vision and mission for children's ministry
Desirable criteria
- Able to preach faithfully, engagingly and clearly to children
- Experience with a variety of children's ministries
- Experience with School Holiday Kids Clubs and Camps
- Creative and fun
Full-time preferred. Safe Ministry compliant (or able to comply).
