Alpha is a global not for profit Christian organisation that gives people the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share their point of view through a series of interactive group sessions. About the Role:
The Lead Designer will develop concepts and designs for multiple channels and mediums, and inspire, generate and develop ideas that are strategically-informed, channel agnostic, and deeply integrated between all touch-points and product experiences.
Excellence in Graphic design content creation is vital in delivering and resourcing Alpha and our church partners, but also creates engagement and brings to life our campaigns and events across social channels, digital platforms, print materials, and more.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate on projects with a team of creatives that work across design, video, motion graphics, copywriting, photography, experiential, and interactive disciplines.
- Consistently uplevel the design and quality of our craft by bringing impactful ideas to the table and seeing the best of them through to fruition with an extreme attention to detail.
- Develop concepts and designs for print and digital media, including websites, social media graphics, email campaigns, and more
- Demonstrate a deep understanding and appreciation for system thinking and help to
build documentation for others to develop on-brand creative
- Assist in the creation of designs that are visually appealing and effective in communicating information to Alpha’s target audience
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to project timelines, and delivering projects on time and within budget
- Transform rough ideas and general concepts into final creative
- Provide art direction for campaigns and creative projects as needed.
- Ensure that deliverables adhere to strategic brief, Alpha vision and intention
- Coordinate, collaborate and align key partners for optimal creative products that push our organisation forward
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years creative industry experience
- A strong graphic design and creative process and experience working toward solutions across various media.
- Portfolio is packed with innovative, impactful and acclaimed creative work that demonstrates your ability to lead, art direct and develop designs that resonate culturally and influence business results.
- A visual storyteller who can think outside the box as well as prepare a design plan, concept and layout for creative projects
- Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as web, print, video, social media, strategy
- A capacity for problem-solving
- Knowledge of design trends and principles
- Ability to apply feedback from Creative Ministry Director
- Extensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite – in particular Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills along with the ability to be flexible and respond quickly to changing priorities
- Commitment to the values and mission of Alpha Australia including a desire to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and ability to relate to and respect people from a variety of faith backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Motion graphics and animation experience (After Effects)
- Web & UX experience (Figma)
- Proficient use of Google Suite
- Ability to take direction and work independently
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, a team player, positive and innovative thinker
