Join Us in Shaping the Future of Learning!

Alphacrucis University College (AC) is seeking a Learning Designer who is passionate about creating innovative, engaging, and inclusive digital learning experiences. This full-time, permanent role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a combination of on-campus and remote work.

As part of our Digital Learning Services team, you will work closely with academic staff and subject matter experts to design and develop pedagogically sound online and blended courses, supporting both Higher Education and VET programs.

🔍 Role Overview

Reporting to the Head of Digital Learning, you will be responsible for designing and developing engaging, high-quality online learning experiences aligned with AC's Digital Learning Framework. Your work will contribute directly to the academic success and satisfaction of our diverse student body.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with academic staff, professional teams, and SMEs to storyboard and design learning experiences aligned with subject objectives, learning outcomes, and assessments.
  • Build online and hybrid subjects using digital learning technologies that support active learning, accessibility, and engagement.
  • Contribute to the development of templates, style guides, and best-practice resources to ensure consistency across courses.
  • Support faculty through training, consultation, and documentation on effective learning design and current trends in digital education.
  • Work with multimedia and technical teams to integrate interactive and visual elements that enhance learning.
  • Ensure learning materials meet accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1) and apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
  • Use learner feedback and analytics to support ongoing course improvements.
  • Participate in course review and quality assurance processes.

✅ About You

You're a collaborative and creative professional with a strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and digital education. You're passionate about educational technology and committed to creating inclusive learning environments.

📚 Qualifications & Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in education, instructional design, eLearning, or a related field — or at least 2 years' relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in designing digital learning for Higher Education and/or VET environments.
  • Experience facilitating online learning and delivering staff training or professional development.
  • Familiarity with Moodle, Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, Articulate 360, and Canva.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1 AA) and inclusive learning design.

🧠 Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to consistency and quality.
  • A positive, professional attitude and a collaborative spirit.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging trends.

💡 Why Work With Us?

At AC, we are passionate about serving Jesus Christ, His church, our students, and one another — with love, faithfulness, and excellence. You'll be part of a vibrant and growing community that values innovation, creativity, and meaningful impact in education.

We also support flexible work through our hybrid model, encouraging a healthy work-life balance while fostering strong team collaboration.
