A Chief Financial Officer role combining practice with purpose, passion and the potential to change lives

About the role:

This is not your typical NFP finance role. As CFO, you will be central to Tearfund's executive team having input into strategy, providing reporting and insights which shape decision-making and implementation. You'll be hands-on, rolling up your sleeves to lead the finance team, risk, compliance, asset management and board engagement. You'll be part of a capable and supportive Executive Team who enjoy the journey together.

With a new strategy in development, Tearfund is entering an exciting phase of growth and development and seeking a values-aligned and motivated CFO to help lead this next season. If you're someone who thrives on meaningful and interesting work (including international finance) and enjoy leading an experienced and purposeful finance and administration team, this offers a real opportunity to make a lasting impact for years to come.

Position Location:
A mix of in office at Blackburn, Melbourne and hybrid work-from-home opportunities (depending on business needs)

What you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (CPA/CA qualified)
  • Commitment to and ability to articulate and model Tearfund Australia's Christian values and ethos.
  • An understanding of contemporary finance and accounting issues and practices
  • Well-developed strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong initiative and drive, a record of agility, innovation and achievement with ability to influence change and respond to changes in external or internal requirements (i.e. re-engineer business processes).
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
