For more than a century, Bush Church Aid (BCA) has been committed to "going the distance" so people in the bush can hear the life-giving message of Jesus.
BCA is seeking a Regional Officer for Western Australia to grow our donor base and provide pastoral care to Field Staff. We're looking for someone who has strong communication skills, a heart for mission, and a passion for sharing Jesus in rural, regional and remote Australia.
About the Role
Reporting to the National Director and working closely with other Regional Officers across Australia, the WA Regional Officer role has two key focus areas:
- Enthuse and enlarge the Supporter Base in WA
In collaboration with the Fundraising and Marketing Officer, building and energising a broad and engaged supporter community with donor growth, retention and reactivation as key measures of success.
- Care pastorally for allocated Field Staff
Provide intentional, Christ-centred pastoral care that supports wellbeing, resilience and ministry effectiveness.
This is a 4-year appointment (with the possibility of extension. The role can be full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate.
About You
We are seeking someone who has the following
Essential Qualities
Christian Character & Ministry Readiness
- Sound Christian character.
- Appropriate theological training and ministry experience
- Experience providing Christ-centred pastoral care.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate Christ's mission through speaking and writing in a way that is both compelling and biblically faithful.
Communication & Public Engagement
- Strong public speaking and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to inspire and motivate diverse audiences through effective storytelling and authentic engagement.
Fundraising Experience
- Demonstrated ability to raise funds and engage donors, or a clear willingness to develop these skills through training and mentoring.
- Familiarity with fundraising strategy and supporter journey frameworks is desirable and can be developed with guidance.
- Confidence in communicating financial needs in a way that is mission-driven, relational, and aligned with BCA vision and values.
Strategic & Organisational Skills
- Strategic thinking and the ability to prioritise actions.
- Administrative proficiency and self-management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (including Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive), with the ability to quickly learn and use other software platforms and digital tools relevant to communication, data management, and remote collaboration
Teamwork & Accountability
- Capacity to work both independently and as a team member.
- Willingness to be held accountable to goals set by the National Director and Board.
Flexibility & Mobility
- Availability for travel, including overnight and weekend deputation.
Desirable Qualities
- Experience in diocesan or denominational leadership, preferably in Western Australia.
- Existing networks across the wider church community.
- Experienced in living and/or ministering in a regional, rural or remote community.
- Ordained Anglican minister.
