Job Description
The Assistant Head of Senior-School is a key member of the College Leadership Team (CLT), supporting the Head of School in the strategic and operational leadership of the Sub-School. This role carries significant responsibility for student wellbeing, discipline, and educational administration, and serves as a spiritual leader within the College community. The Assistant Head of Senior-School actively contributes to the development of a Christ-centred culture that nurtures students, supports staff, and builds strong partnerships with families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support wellbeing-focused staff, fostering a caring and professional environment.
- Mentor teachers in pastoral care, behaviour management, and spiritual leadership.
- Promote staff wellbeing through access to internal and external support services.
- Cultivate a safe and nurturing environment where students feel known and valued.
- Oversee student wellbeing and discipline in partnership with Year Lead Educators.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual support plans for students.
- Build strong relationships with parents, supporting student growth and engagement.
- Assist with enrolment interviews, orientation, and parent communication.
- Support daily operations of the sub-school, including events and leadership forums.
- Respond to student safety concerns and contribute to risk management planning.
- Champion professional learning and WHS compliance across the sub-school.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A Committed Christian who is actively involved in their local evangelical Christian church.
- Relevant teaching qualifications.
- A clear and well-articulated understanding of what it means to be a Christian teacher and the role of Christian Schooling.
- Experience teaching a Year 7 - 12 specialist area.
- Experience teaching Year 7 - 12 Mathematics is highly regarded.
- Proven experience in pastoral care, behaviour management, and student wellbeing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and lead collaboratively.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities.
- High-level organisational and administrative skills.
- Capacity to write clearly and professionally in student records and correspondence.
