Mueller Community Church

 

Mueller Community Church (MCC) in Rothwell (north Brisbane) is seeking expressions of interest for the position of Children’s and Families Pastor. The role may be full-time or part-time (subject to agreement with the preferred candidate).

Mueller Community Church is an evangelical church with strong emphasis on worship and Bible teaching. MCC recognises the necessity for us as Christ followers being empowered by the Holy Spirit for godly living and effective service.

MCC is a member of Christian Community Churches of Australia (CCCAust) servicing the Redcliffe Peninsula. The church is part of the wider Mueller community, which includes Mueller College (Prep to Year 12), an Early Learning Centre, Outside School Hours Care, Peninsula Palms Retirement Village and residential aged care facility.

 

General Role Description

The Children’s and Families Pastor provides pastoral leadership and direction for ministry to children and families within the church. While overseeing the work of the Children’s Program Coordinator, the primary focus is to pastor and equip parents and caregivers to live out the gospel in their homes, helping families become the primary place of faith formation.

This role works in close partnership with the Next Generation Pastor to ensure a cohesive discipleship pathway from early childhood through young adulthood, aligning ministry philosophy, leadership development, and family engagement across all generations.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral oversight and support for children and their families.
  • Lead, mentor, and resource the Children's Program Coordinator and ministry volunteers.
  • Equip and train parents for gospel-centred discipleship in the home.
  • Collaborate with the Next Generation Pastor to build a seamless discipleship journey that connects children's, youth, and young adult ministries.
  • Oversee biblically faithful, safe, and engaging children's programs that align with MCC's vision and theological convictions including Mueller Kid's Church, Mainly Music, and Playtime.
  • Link MCC to the other on-campus ministries such as Mueller College Primary chapel and the Early Learning Centre.
  • Foster intergenerational relationships and integrate children and families into the wider life of the church.

 

Person Specification / Essential Qualifications

  • Mature and energetic Christian faith.
  • Lead with humility and a heart for serving the church.
  • Eager to take initiative and explore new ministry opportunities.
  • Equipped with people skills, displaying emotional intelligence and self-awareness in interactions with others.
  • A lifestyle in alignment with biblical standards for leaders; high level of personal integrity.
  • Empathetic and compassionate; displays patience and sincerity with others.
  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in education, Christian ministry, Biblical studies, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience and a clear calling to children’s and families pastoral ministry.
  • Relevant spiritual gifts, such as pastoring, leadership, and teaching.
