About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Management and Planning Accountant to support the CFO and Senior Accountant with financial compliance, reporting, forecasting and oversight of student-related revenue. This full-time permanent hybrid role, based at our Parramatta campus, plays a key part in ensuring AC meets its regulatory, audit and operational financial obligations while driving continuous improvement across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & External Reporting

  • Manage reporting obligations for FEE-HELP, Commonwealth Supported Places, TEQSA and ACNC.
  • Monitor bank covenant compliance and prepare reporting for the CFO and Finance & Audit Committee.
  • Support external audits relating to tuition fees, debtors, cashflows and reconciliations.

Financial & Management Reporting

  • Prepare monthly Executive Reports and quarterly reports for the Finance & Audit Committee and Council.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of tuition fees, direct costs and student-related financial activity.
  • Monitor and report on field trip financials, including pricing, costings and variance analysis.

Student Revenue Oversight

  • Work with Student Services and Accounts Receivable to ensure accurate enrolment data, invoicing, refunds and debtor management.
  • Analyse student fee performance, budget variances and forecasting.
  • Oversee direct costs related to enrolments and reconcile student revenue and debtors across systems.

Forecasting, Budgeting & Cashflow

  • Support monthly forecasting with the Senior Accountant.
  • Prepare cashflow forecasts for fundraising, operations and capital projects.

Financial Operations & Support

  • Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable.
  • Assist with financial oversight of tuition fees and direct costs.

Projects & Systems Improvement

  • Support finance systems and process improvement projects, including AP automation and new system implementations.

Field Trip Financial Oversight

  • Prepare costings, pricing and profitability analysis.
  • Monitor performance against budget and provide financial insights.

About You — Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
  • Experience in higher-education finance (FEE-HELP, CSP, TEQSA) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ACNC or NFP reporting is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, management accounting and regulatory compliance.
  • Committed Christian aligned with the values and beliefs of Alphacrucis University College.

  • Ability to interpret and apply financial and legislative requirements.
