Position: Pastor (Full Time or Part Time)

Roma Church of Christ, Roma QLD

The Roma Church of Christ is seeking expressions of interest for the position of Pastor. With a strong focus on families and youth in our church, we’re prayfully seeking a Pastor to steer our church into our next chapters of ministry.

The Roma Church of Christ has been in operation for over 137 years, and is a Christ centered, Bible teaching church. We have a commitment to prayer and sharing the gospel in our local community. We are located in rural Queensland, approximately 6 hours west of Brisbane, in a township that is warm and welcoming, and has a strong sense of community.

This role offers flexibility and can be structured as either full-time or part-time, depending on your availability and calling.

Key Responsibilities: The Senior Pastor will, in consultation with the eldership, provide strategic and spiritual leadership to the church, coordinate the internal and external ministries of the church, participate in the provision of pastoral care support to congregational and general community members, and coordinate corporate worship activities including a significate preaching responsibility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To provide visionary leadership to the church, developing the long-term vision with the board and with the pastoral team. Working with the board to provide stable leadership and governance.
  • The provide spiritual leadership and facilitate the equipping of members to enable the church to fulfill its God-given ministry.
  • Be responsible for the preaching and teaching of God’s Word faithfully in the church.
  • To oversee the provision of pastoral care within the church.
  • Cultivate partnerships and outreach in the local community.
  • To oversee the development and training of leaders within the church.

Personal Requirements

  • Strong preaching, communication, and leadership skills
  • Theological qualifications in education, Christian ministry, Biblical studies, or a related field.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of volunteers and to develop leaders.
  • Competent oral and written communicator.
  • Committed to live by the Values of our church
  • Pass the Working with Children Check, Safe Ministry Check and Police Check.
