Business Administrative & Operations Manager

Location: Online anywhere globally with reliable internet
Employment Type: 0.8FTE OR Two roles – one Business, one Administrative, each 0.4 FTE.

Reports to:  Board and CEO in first instance
Travel: Occasional international travel (Asia)

Organisation Overview

We are an Australian registered Not-for-Profit organisation based in Australia, operating across 20  mostly Asian countries. Our mission is to equip Christian leaders, counsellors, and communities through biblically grounded counselling training using the Christian Wholeness Framework, and to nurture a growing counselling community throughout Asia. Ongoing growth of demand for more community counsellors in contexts where there is great need and few services means we need help to grow.

Our work includes:

  • Delivery of Christian counselling training programs onsite and online
  • Development of culturally contextualised training resources
  • Research of efficacy of training and programs
  • Partnerships with 20+ churches, ministries, national counselling association, counselling centers, seminaries and local organisations across Asia and Uganda.

Position Purpose

The Business Administration & Operations Manager (BAOM) is responsible for supporting the CEO with the effective planning for, and management of, operational, financial, and administration of this not for profit organisation in Australia and across its Asian operations. The position integrates strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership.

The BAOM is expected to

  • Establish systems to grow the Business and Administrative Systems of LW
  • Support the Exec Team and other leaders in their roles as departmental, program and area leaders.
  • Work closely with the CEO in strategic development and planning, including preparing regular reports for the board.
  • Thus serve the advancement of the Living Wholeness Community to meet its vision and mission as outlined on https://www.livingwholeness.org/

This role contributes to the mission of Living Wholeness to support international training programs organisational sustainability and scalability, efficient operational systems and effective support of a growing cross-cultural counselling community across 20 nations

The BAOM will be responsible for leading systems that reflect strong principles of governance and compliance as an Australian Not-for-Profit group, and also principles of Biblical financial stewardship and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic & Operational Leadership
  • Identify opportunities for sustainable growth and partnerships in line with LW values.
  • Translate Board and Executive strategy into operational plans, budgets, and KPIs.
  1. Governance & Compliance (Australia)
  • Ensure operations have compliance with:
    • Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC)
    • Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) (as applicable)
    • Queensland regulatory requirements
  • Support Board governance processes (reporting, risk management, policy, insurance).
  1. Financial Management
  • Grow the financial management system
  • Facilitate growth in income and donor financial base
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Monitor cash flow and funding sustainability
  • Supervise bookkeeping and external accountants
  • Oversee grant application, management and acquittals
  • Develop financial policies and internal controls
  1. Donor Management
  • Strengthen fundraising initiatives
  • Manage relationships with new donors
  • Build effective donor liaison team
  • Assist with donor communications and impact reporting
  • Support partnership development efforts

 

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

  • A calling and desire to serve the work of Living Wholeness and a commitment to complete the basic Foundations of Living Wholeness Course to understand LW ethos.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Management, Commerce, or similar
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations or business management
  • Strong financial management and budgeting experience
  • High-level organisational, systems development,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Desirable

  • Experience working cross-culturally, preferably in Asia
  • Experience in faith-based or mission organisations
  • Experience in the Not-for-Profit sector (preferably with international operations) and capacity to demonstrate understanding of governance requirements for Australian NFPs
  • Familiarity with counselling, training, or education sectors
  • Experience managing remote teams
  • Grant management experience
  • Risk management and compliance experience
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices in international ministry contexts

Remuneration

  • Salary commensurate with experience, capacity, and location.
