Leader Health – Support & Development
Full-time salary $108,000-$138,000 + superannuation + Ministers Exempt benefit + benefit vehicle options Rhodes office location + regularly travel and visitations across NSW/ACT
Churches of Christ in NSW & ACT was founded almost 140 years ago, by a few locally-governed churches committed to the Lordship of Christ and a simple gospel-centred Christianity grounded in New Testament practices.
Today we are a network of 60 churches, diverse in form, ethnicity and culture, but held together by our historic DNA and a recently reaffirmed ethos. We are currently looking for a pastorally-gifted leader to take up the role of Leader Health – Support & Development.
You will provide pastoral support to ministering persons across our network, offering a non-anxious presence and deep listening.
You will develop trusted and authentic relationships with our church leaders through one-to-one and group settings, fostering interdependence.
You will cultivate formation communities and bring your strategic insight to leader development, creating pathways for new and existing leaders, in alignment with our ethos and disciple-making vision.
You will lead collaboratively within a high-trust team environment to ensure that our support for churches and their leaders, deepening capacity and healthy spiritual rhythms.
Based at Rhodes, you will be required to travel to locations across NSW and ACT to support and develop leaders.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Provide 1:1 pastoral support to ministering persons
- Cultivate communities of support & formation for leaders
- Bring strategic insight and activation to leader development processes and programs.
- Support and foster sabbatical rhythms for short and long-term wellbeing of ministering persons.
- Participate in strategic implementation and goal-setting in collaboration with other team members.
- Development of processes that are responsive to the seasons of ministry (including onboarding, induction and endorsement, discernment and exiting)
- Provide leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Engage in church visitation and preaching.
You must:
- Be an authorised member of a religious institution and be recognised officially through endorsement as a minister by churches of Christ in NSW.
- Hold a relevant degree in theology and demonstrated experience (5 years +) in chaplaincy, pastoral ministry or ministry team leadership.
- Be personally committed to your spiritual maturity as a follower of Jesus Christ and encourage others in their spiritual formation.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead, and motivate a diverse team.
- Valid NSW Driver’s License.
- Hold a Current National Police Check, Working with Children Check and current Creating Safe Spaces Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
