About the Role?
Make a Global Impact With Your Financial Expertise
Are you an experienced accounting professional passionate about strengthening financial integrity, supporting global partners, and contributing to meaningful international development outcomes? Baptist World Aid is seeking an Accountant – International Projects Lead to uplift financial capability across our organisation and support our international partners.
Key Responsibilities
Lead International Financial Reviews
- Conduct financial reviews of international partner organisations.
- Provide risk assessments and practical recommendations.
- Conduct partner visits and support external audits.
Build Financial Capacity
- Deliver training and coaching to BWAA staff and international partners on budgeting, financial controls, governance, and risk management.
- Provide financial advice to International Program Coordinators and Managers.
Compliance and Governance
- Represent Finance function in key internal governance committees.
- Ensure Organisational Compliance with external standards and reporting
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DFAT, ACFID, and other NGO financial compliance requirements.
Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting
- Support annual and multi-year budgeting for international programs portfolio.
- Review and advise on partner program budgets and expenditure reports
Essential Skills and Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Business, or Commerce plus CA/CPA membership.
- 5+ years financial accounting or business partnering experience.
- Strong coaching, relationship building and influencing capability.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in financial reviews, audits, and controls.
- Willingness to travel internationally to developing countries (at least 6 weeks a year)
Desirable Skills
- International NGO partner finance experience.
- DFAT/ANCP compliance knowledge.
- Grant budget development and oversight.
- Experience with financial controls in developing countries.
