CityLife Chinese Church is currently seeking a Network Pastor with a Cantonese Congregation focus.

This is a Fixed Term role - 12 months – 0.4 FTE (2 days)

The Network Pastor – Chinese Church (Cantonese Congregation Focus), works closely with the Chinese Church Lead Pastor to grow the Cantonese congregation. The Network Pastor is mainly responsible for the development and growth of pastoral care and discipleship through our Life Groups network, including both Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking Life Groups.

The Network Pastor is also responsible with the Lead Pastor for the development and growth of the Chinese Church weekend services, with a primary focus on the Cantonese congregation. The Network Pastor works closely with the Lead Pastor – Chinese Church, to develop and deliver on the goals and vision for the broader Chinese Church congregation – spanning both Cantonese and Mandarin communities – in line with the Vision of CityLife Church.

You will be fluent in English and Cantonese and have full Australian working rights. 

 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist in casting vision and goals for the Chinese Church, with a primary focus on the Cantonese Congregation.

Assist in implementing the vision and goals for the Chinese Church, including both the Cantonese and Mandarin congregations.

Grow Life Groups through active coaching of Life Group leaders and co-leaders & raising new groups.

Overseeing the Chinese Church Life Groups, including Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking groups.

Assist in preparations for smooth running of the Chinese Church services, with a primary focus on the Cantonese congregation services.

Coaching and training Life Group Coaches, Leaders, and Co-Leaders.

Provide Life Tracks teaching and training for the Chinese Church congregation, including both Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking members.

 

The successful applicant will have:

Theological or Pastoral qualification is desirable.

Previous experience in a pastoral capacity is preferable.

Demonstrated ability to recruit, select and develop leaders/volunteers.

Demonstrated confidence in spiritual gifts and ministry.

Excellent verbal and written communication – including public speaking, weekend message construction and delivery, and report writing.

Ability to motivate leaders and grow volunteer leadership teams.

Leadership - effective consulting and decision-making skills and experience (preferably at least two years’ experience leading others).

Competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and social media.

Must be fluent in both English and Cantonese; proficiency in Mandarin is strongly preferred, as this role supports both Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking Life Groups and the broader Chinese Church Congregation.
