About St Luke’s

St Luke's Grammar School is an Independent, Anglican, co-educational school, with two Campuses on Sydney's Northern Beaches. One Campus is located in Dee Why (Pre-K to Year 12), and a second Campus is located in Bayview (Pre-K to Year 6). St Luke’s has built a reputation as a premier co-educational independent school that achieves outstanding academic and pastoral outcomes for students. 

St Luke’s employs over 120 full-time and part-time teachers, supported by teachers’ aides, administrative staff, grounds staff and peripatetic tutors. The School currently has close to 1300 students, with approximately 1100 students at Dee Why and 200 students at  Bayview. 

St Luke’s Grammar School is one of seventeen schools that are part of the Anglican Schools Corporation (ASC) network of schools. The ASC works closely with the Principal and School Council to ensure wise oversight and governance of the School and provide support with core services including finance, IT, Compliance and Human Resources. 

 

Position:              Performing Arts Assistant 

Load:                    Permanent Full Time (Term time) 

Commencement: Immediate start 

Reporting to:        Director of Performing Arts

 

About the Role

St Luke’s Grammar School is seeking to appoint a Performing Arts Assistant. This is a pivotal role in contributing to the whole school community.  This busy role will allow the successful candidate to apply their considerable skills including excellent organisational, multitasking and time management skills, computer proficiency and an ability to liaise, interact, and communicate effectively with all members of the School’s community.

  • Director of Performing Arts
  • Business Manager
  • Principal and other Members of the Executive Team

 

Key Roles / Duties / Responsibilities

The successful applicant will engage and communicate effectively with the School Community:

  • Assists in the coordination of Music, Dance and Drama rehearsals, schedules, and overall logistics of performances and stage productions
  • Manages communication between staff, parents, students, and the director to ensure smooth operations
  • Oversees daily administration including inbox management, meetings, supplies, and attendance tracking
  • Provides direct support to the Director, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and availability for last-minute changes
  • Manages repertoire resources, including purchasing music, organising storage, and maintaining digital drives
  • Maintains internal systems and platforms (e.g. calendars, forms, portals, and databases) to keep information accurate and up to date
  • Oversees instrument inventory, including tracking, billing, and organising repairs
  • Coordinates peripatetic programs, including room allocations, student scheduling, and communications
  • Supports event planning and execution, including bookings, risk assessments, communications, and administrative processes

Licences/Certificates/Qualifications 

  • Valid Working with Children Check required
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate?
  • First Aid Certificates

 

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Strong physical, mental and emotional health to deal with the required demands and responsibilities of the role.
