The Leprosy Mission Australia (TLMA) is working towards Zero Leprosy transmission by 2035. Ending this disease is achievable with the right resources and this role is crucial to supporting their work in India, Nepal, Indonesia, PNG, Nigeria and Timor-Leste.
The Leprosy Mission Australia partners with Australians to ensure that people affected by neglected tropical diseases including leprosy across the world get the cure, care, and restoration they need to live life in all its fullness. They are part of a global network of 30 Members, working together to assist some of the most outcast and vulnerable people in the world.
The Opportunity
The Trusts & Foundations Manager plays a critical role in building and growing a key funding stream for the organisation.
This is a relationship-led role where you will take a proactive approach to establishing new connections, developing funding partnerships and positioning The Leprosy Mission within the philanthropic sector.
Working closely with the Strategic Relationships Lead, you will:
- Proactively identify, engage and develop partnerships with trusts & foundations, PAFs and PuAFs
- Act as a visible ambassador, attending networking events and building a strong presence across the philanthropic sector
- Refine and execute the trusts & foundations approach, identifying and progressing new opportunities
- Write compelling grant proposals and funding applications, aligning organisational priorities with funder interests
- Steward and grow existing partnerships, ensuring high-quality engagement and acquittal reporting
- Collaborate with international colleagues across The Leprosy Mission network on large-scale funding opportunities
Trusts & Foundations continue to represent a significant growth opportunity at TLMA, with strong potential to deepen engagement and increase multi-year funding.
About YOU
You are a natural connector who brings a proactive mindset, combined with strong grant writing capability.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven ability to engage funders and build meaningful connections, with confidence representing an organisation externally
- A proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new opportunities
- Experience in trusts & foundations, philanthropy or major donor fundraising
- Strong grant writing skills and the ability to convert opportunities into funding outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders
- Experience or exposure to international development, global health, disability inclusion or overseas aid (highly regarded)
- Ability to operate within the Christian based beliefs, vision, mission and values of The Leprosy Mission Australia
- A proactive, outcomes-focused approach, with the ability to take initiative and drive progress
