Principal
Carmichael College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational, non-denominational Christian College situated in Morayfield, Queensland. The College was established in 2015 and is enjoying steady growth with student number anticipated to reach around 1,100 in 2027.
Carmichael College exists to provide Christ‑centred education that nurtures students in faith, character, and learning. The College forms part of the wider Carmichael Campus ministries, partnering with the church community to serve families through Christian schooling, Early Learning, and community engagement.
About the role
The College Principal is responsible for providing inspiring leadership and effective, efficient management of the College, appointment and leadership of staff and for development and implementation of strategies that will ensure the College and College Campus entities realise their mission. The role of Principal is available for commencement in January 2027. The Principal reports to the Board Chair of the College and is responsible for:
- Leading faith & culture across the College
- Leading Christian Mission across the College
- Leading Teaching and Learning from Prep to Year 12
- Ensuring harmonious and productive working relationships across the College
- Managing, developing and leading senior leaders and other staff
- Management of College resources, including budgeting and staffing
- Management of College administration, including reporting and compliance
- Remaining abreast of the changing requirements in the education sector, legislative changes, and best practices
About you
The ideal candidate should have a clear sense of calling to do Christian mission within the College context and will:
- Be committed to a personal faith in Jesus Christ and able to translate faith into practice Have demonstrated strong academic credentials
- Display thorough understanding of Christian education and experience in senior leadership within a complex educational environment
- Have a high level of competency in strategic thinking, finances and operational management
- Be a highly effective communicator, including with parents, staff, students and the Board
- Maintain a knowledge of corporate governance
- Have demonstrated problem solving skills
- Hold educational and personal philosophies that align with, and fully support the Carmichael College mission, vision and values
- Be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers (or able to obtain registration)
