The Opportunity

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our team on a fixed-term parental leave cover position for 12 months. The Assistant Accountant supports the efficient day-to-day operations of the Finance team by delivering accurate and timely financial processing and reconciliations. Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, this role helps maintain the integrity of financial data while identifying opportunities to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen financial practices across the organisation.

Selection Criteria

  • Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Sound experience in an accounting or similar finance role.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and month-end processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including intermediate to advanced spreadsheet skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain high levels of accuracy when processing financial transactions and preparing reports.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing workloads, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
