AnchorEd is searching for an exceptional Head of Faculty – English for a highly regarded independent Christian school on the Mornington Peninsula.
And importantly, you don't need to already be a Head of Faculty.
We want to hear from both established English leaders and talented Year 12 English teachers who are ready to step up, lead colleagues and help shape the direction of English teaching across the Secondary School.
If you've built strong credibility in the classroom, understand senior English and Literature, enjoy supporting other teachers and have been thinking “I'm ready to lead” — this could be your opportunity.
You'll combine faculty leadership with active classroom teaching, giving you the chance to lead people, influence curriculum and improve student outcomes while staying connected to the part of the job you love teaching English.
The Opportunity
As Head of Faculty – English, you will:
- Lead and coordinate the Secondary English faculty
- Teach Secondary English and Literature
- Provide leadership across curriculum, assessment and reporting
- Mentor, support and develop teachers within the faculty
- Champion engaging, differentiated and contemporary teaching practices
- Contribute to teaching and learning strategy across the Secondary School
- Support students academically, personally and spiritually
- Work collaboratively with senior school leaders and colleagues
- Participate actively in the broader life of the school, including pastoral and co-curricular activities
Who Should Apply?

- Current Heads of English, English Coordinators or faculty leaders looking for their next opportunity
- Strong Year 12 English teachers ready to take their first formal leadership step
- Experienced English and Literature teachers with the credibility and enthusiasm to lead and mentor colleagues
- Educators passionate about curriculum, contemporary teaching and improving student outcomes
- Teachers who enjoy collaboration and working within a strong professional team
You'll ideally bring:
✔ Strong Secondary English teaching experience, including Year 12 ✔ English and/or Literature curriculum expertise ✔ Existing leadership experience or the potential and desire to step into leadership ✔ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills ✔ A collaborative and people-focused approach ✔ Current VIT Registration ✔ Full Australian working rights ✔ A genuine and active commitment to Christian faith and education
