Operations and People Manager

For more than 20 years, Diamond Women has walked alongside women and families facing unplanned pregnancy and complex life circumstances. We provide compassionate, practical and inclusive support, shaped by our Christian faith and grounded in dignity, care and respect.

As Diamond Women enters its next stage of growth, we are strengthening our leadership team and looking for an Operations and People Manager who can bring structure, sound judgement and consistent follow-through to our day-to-day work.

This role combines operational leadership with practical implementation. It will suit someone who can set priorities, support people well, improve systems and take agreed work through to completion.

About the role

Working closely with the Founder and CEO, you will coordinate daily operations and help turn organisational priorities into clear plans and action. You will support a capable and accountable team, maintain important organisational requirements and strengthen the systems that help Diamond Women work effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations and keep agreed priorities, responsibilities and deadlines on track.
  • Lead recruitment, screening, interviews, onboarding and core people processes.
  • Support staff through clear priorities, regular communication, constructive feedback and appropriate accountability.
  • Own grants, acquittals and compliance requirements so obligations are planned for and completed on time.
  • Coordinate operational timelines for events, campaigns and major organisational milestones.
  • Review and improve systems, workflows and documentation, then support the team to use them consistently.
  • Make sound decisions within the scope of the role, raise risks early and follow agreed actions through.
  • Contribute practically during key events, campaigns and service activities when additional support is needed.

About you

You may bring experience from operations, people and culture, community services, health, ministry, not-for-profit leadership or a growing small-to-medium organisation. Your way of working will be as important as your previous job title.

  • You have experience coordinating people, priorities and operational deadlines.
  • You take initiative, use sound judgement and know when to make a decision or seek input.
  • You communicate clearly, build trust and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • You can establish clear expectations while supporting staff wellbeing and professional growth.
  • You enjoy improving systems and solving practical problems.
  • You can move comfortably between planning, coordination and hands-on work.
  • You remain calm when priorities shift and raise concerns openly and respectfully.
  • You are comfortable contributing in a growing organisation where some systems and processes are still being developed.

Our faith and values

Diamond Women is an inclusive Christian organisation. Our faith shapes our mission, values and organisational life. We support women and families with compassion and respect, whatever their circumstances or background.

We are seeking a leader who understands and supports this Christian foundation, is comfortable with faith and prayer being part of team life, and can help sustain a professional, caring and respectful workplace.

Why join Diamond Women

  • Contribute to an established organisation with more than 20 years of community impact.
  • Take on a role with meaningful influence across operations, people and organisational development.
  • Work closely with the CEO and leadership team as Diamond Women strengthens its structure and prepares for future growth.
  • Help shape the systems and workplace practices that support staff and protect the quality of care provided to women and families.
  • Build experience toward broader General Manager or Chief Operating Officer responsibilities as the organisation grows.
