About us
Our team at the Sydney Anglican Offices are dedicated to supporting the growth of God’s Kingdom by providing valued services to churches and organisations across the Anglican Diocese of Sydney.
This role sits within the Office of the Director of Safe Ministry (ODSM) which plays a significant role in supporting safe ministry practices across the Diocese and the safeguarding of children and vulnerable persons through screening, training, policies and advice. ODSM also administers the complaints procedure in relation to clergy and church workers.
About the role
To provide executive assistance to the Director, enhancing their capacity to effectively undertake their role, and to understand and proficiently represent the Director’s position regarding administrative matters related to the office. This includes:
- Providing proactive, high-level executive support to the Director of Safe Ministry, including diary, correspondence, reporting and priority management.
- Coordinating governance activities, meetings, events and projects, ensuring documentation and follow-up actions are completed accurately and on time.
- Administering sensitive Safe Ministry screening processes, records and enquiries with confidentiality, discretion and sound judgement.
- Maintaining effective relationships with senior clergy, boards, parishes, Anglican organisations and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Improving administrative systems and workflows through effective records management, automation, digitisation and continuous improvement.
About You
The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 5 years’ experience in the role of Executive Assistant or a similar role. They will also have the following qualities:
- At least 5 years' experience in an executive assistant role or similar.
- Experience in supporting boards / committees, including preparing agendas, minutes, reports, tracking actions.
- Ability to anticipate executive needs, proactively manage priorities and provide high level support.
- Proven experience coordinating and delivering complex administrative or operational projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, with the ability to leverage technology to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Demonstrated experience using board management software, CRM and records management systems.
- Demonstrated capability to identified opportunities to automate, streamline and improve administrative processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing professional correspondence, board papers and reports.
Consistent with the ethos and values of the Sydney Anglican Offices, applicants for the position must have a demonstrated Christian commitment and be an active member of a church. Knowledge of the Diocese is an advantage.
