Associate Chaplain – Sunshine Coast Grammar School

Sunshine Coast Grammar School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Associate Chaplain to join our School in 2027.

This role will commence in Term 1, 2027 for a one-year contract.

 About the role

The Associate Chaplain will support the Chaplain in the leadership of Christian ministry within the School. The purpose of our Christian ministry is to enable students, staff and parents to experience the presence of God through Christian faith expressed in the everyday life of our school. Our Christian faith, based on the life of Jesus Christ, encourages our students to discover what it means to love God, love others and to realise that they are loved by God. Students will have the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and consider the invitation to follow him.

The Associate Chaplain must be a registered teacher, have worked with children and young people and have biblical training. Associate Chaplains are appointed from Christian denominations that align with the teachings of the Presbyterian and Uniting Churches.

The Associate Chaplain will be a thoughtful communicator and adept at engaging students with the Christian Gospel. This ministry is exercised primarily through teaching Christian education classes, Chapel services and a variety of formal and informal contexts in the life of the school.

This valuable staff member will be a highly effective Christian Education teacher, mentor for the school community and added pastoral support for students, staff and families. They would work alongside key pastoral staff as well as assisting with JOLT (Jesus Over Lunch Time) groups, working with the team in our community awareness programs and more.
